...left a good job in the City, workin’ for the Silicon Valley Ivy League data brokers every night and day to create an Airbnb in small town Red Rocks with the Hubtacular. Now he plays in his rock and roll band and I’m back to writing and making pictures. It’s been a struggle--the best kind--never been happier. We are building something for his beautiful and moody, brilliant kid and also our old age. We feel like “real people.” It’s all love.

Love the example, for it demonstrates that QUALITY of life is possible over "standard" of living. If love is the one "standard", then we find ways to figure it out, while prioritizing the people in our lives and the deepest values. This has the interesting benefit of creating JOY. Amid the chaos of the world, integrity goes a long way!

There are so many gems in this essay. Love is the only lasting legacy. It reminds me of an Emily Dickinson poem,

“That Love is all there is,

Is all we know of Love;

It is enough, the freight should be

Proportioned to the groove.”

Every sound in nature is an echo of Love, yet we really can’t comprehend Love this side of heaven. But we can pursue a deeper understanding, and in that way it will leave a deep impression on our lives.

Thank you for sharing your words!

Profound insight. Yes, we cannot really and fully comprehend Love this side of heavens, but we can know its fruits and we can cultivate its vines. We can pursue and understanding in wisdom, in being broken open to the larger and deeper Love, in being moved by others and the notes of a symphony in a forest as in a hall. All is a miracle, and all is Truth manifested in Love, and all comes from and returns to Love.

Thank you for speaking the heart of the Beloved, Zeus! It's a wonderful affirmation for everyone. People ask me, what is Reiki, why do you want to practice a healing art and channel energy with so much emotion, isn't it difficult? My answer: Reiki is love, and emotion is energy in motion. Which is how I know the technique heals. What a beautiful thing it is to be human, and experience love through the instrument of the body. Thank you also for refreshing the words of love from philosophy and gospel. Btoo often those sources are utilized to sew judgement.

Well and rightly and truly said: "What a beautiful thing it is to be human, and experience love through the instrument of the body." Too many are so concerned about death and ill health, that they do not realize the body is created and provided as an instrument on which to play the most beautiful music and to be played by spirit and by God. In truth there is no judgement, but rather Reality. The body is a record of this reality, not it's enemy. If we could but humbly misunderstand and admit our limitations with a glad hope of the evaporation of these limitations, rather than clinging to them as if they have value and meaning (Ex. romanticized victimhood). Let us RELEASE as with Reiki, in fits and starts, in emotion and in faith, WHATEVER is needed to give oneself to God and open the pathways of spirit so that Spirit will do what it will in our lives, our souls, and in our bodies.
